In part 1 we covered what oneAPI is, now let’s take a more detailed look into the licensing elements of the Intel oneAPI Toolkits.
How are the old Intel Software products mapped against the new ones?
Here’s a high-level overview:
What is the difference between single-node and multi-node?
The “Single-Node” version will be supported for use on shared memory systems, like laptops, notebooks, PCs, desktops and workstations. The “Multi-Node” version will be supported for use on shared memory systems and on distributed memory systems, such as High-Performance Computing (HPC) clusters.
Why should you get the Intel oneAPI Toolkits commercial products with support?
The Intel oneAPI Toolkits commercial products come with Priority Support. Intel Technical Consulting Engineers respond and resolve your technical issues privately and work with the Intel engineering teams as needed on solutions and workarounds to issues that they file bugs and tickets for. You will also get access to older versions of the supported products.
To get the best out of the tools, it’s advised you purchase the toolkits with support.
Which oneAPI Toolkits are available for Commercial Support?
The following toolkits are available with commercial support with various use support configuration price points:
- Intel oneAPI Base Toolkit
- Intel oneAPI Base and HPC Toolkit
- Intel oneAPI Base and IoT Toolkit
- Intel oneAPI Base and Rendering Toolkit
Please contact us to find out more about the different price points and configurations.
Can the HPC, IoT or Rendering Toolkits be purchased on their own?
No, they are add-ons that are intended to be used with the Intel oneAPI Base Toolkit, so that you have a complete suite of tools needed to meet the development required to target Intel’s latest platforms.
Can another add-on toolkit be purchased if you already have one, without needing to purchase the Intel oneAPI Base Toolkit again?
Yes, you can. Please contact us to find out more.
Are the commercial products sold by Operating System (OS) variant support like Intel Parallel Studio?
No, there are no product variants by OS. Purchasing support for the commercial product gives access to all the supported OS’s as specified by the toolkits for the host and target platform. Please see the Systems Requirements for each of the toolkits for OS Support and note that not all components are supported across all the operating systems.
Are the commercial products sold by language support variant like Intel Parallel Studio?
No, the oneAPI Base & HPC Toolkit includes all supported languages as part of the commercial package.
Can customers still access older versions of Intel Parallel Studio and Intel System Studio?
Yes, if you have an active support renewal, you can access the current major release and three previous major releases of the compilers through our Intel Registration Center account. For any other of the supported tools, you can get access to two previous major versions through your Intel Registration Center account. Older versions are available upon request.
